Principal's Message
Opening a new school is a challenge under the best of circumstances. Opening a new charter school in these tough
economic times is a truly ambitious and audacious undertaking. One that the Inner City Education Foundation, our staff
and I take very seriously.
On the other hand, these are also daring times for our community. Just as our ancestors before us struggled to provide
their offspring with education above all else, we must carry on the tradition of preparing our children to strive for
excellence and compete for the very best educational and occupational opportunities this country has to offer. We
must band together as educators, students, parents, extended families and caregivers to set the foundation for our
children’s growth and the realization of their dreams.
It is essential for the ICEF Inglewood Charter Middle Academy community to recognize that the middle grades are
where student dis-engagement becomes a serious issue. As our students mature and become more aware of their
surroundings, school and academic achievement can waver. As a community, we must work to keep their "eyes on the
prize." Nothing can pre-empt the need for our students to give their studies their very best effort and to take the
instruction they receive seriously.
As Director, I pledge to monitor all instruction and to investigate every opportunity to enrich the learning environment
at ICEF Inglewood Charter Middle Academy. Please join me as we make our contribution to our educational community.
I am truly looking forward to the challenge.
